Several members of the congregation sponsor a child in the Developing World through the charity “Compassion”. This developed from a service led by the Worship Leaders.
The Prayer Group now meets on the 1st Thursday of the month at 10.00 am with communion forming part of the meeting from time to time.
The luncheon club continues to meet monthly in local hostelries and there are regularly two people not from our church.
We are a member of Churches Together in Swinton and Pendlebury (CTSP). In addition a monthly ecumenical service rotates around the members of CTSP located in the Moorside area – Holy Rood (CE), St Charles (RC) Worsley Road (URC), Moorside Independent Methodists and us. CTSP is getting involved in the work of Church Action on Poverty.
The Knitting Circle meets in members’ houses on alternate Tuesdays. Around 12 to 13 ladies attend including two non-church attenders.
Equipment available in Church:
Mini-disc/tape/CD players, sound system, radio/wired mics etc.
We are very sad to announce that this Church closed on February 6th 2014, due to the building no longer meeting Health and Safety requirements. The cost of repairs is prohibitive. The congregation will continue to meet. The Church’s own web site is remaining open for the time being.
A service to celebrate the life of this Church was held in March 2014 at Worsley Road United Reformed Church, Swinton.
